GreenTech: Choosing & Using Sustainable Tools with Marit Digital

  • The Wright Village Hubert Street STE 2 Raleigh, NC, 27603 United States (map)

About this event

Most conversations around technology revolve around the ways we’re using it to alleviate or solve our problems. Many of us don’t consider that technology and the digital resources we rely on have their own impact on the world, including energy usage and the release of greenhouse gases (GHG). In fact, the Internet and Communication Technology sector contributes ~5% of global emissions, which is more than the aviation industry.

Let’s start talking about how we’re using our tech. What are the biggest contributors to energy consumption? How can we seek to make educated purchases? And what should we be doing to track these effects and make improvements for our tech usage the short and long-term?
