Resale Boutique Associate
Job Type: Part-time (3-4 days a week)
About Us:
The Village Resale is a cherished thrift and resale clothing boutique dedicated to providing high-quality, gently-used clothing and accessories to our diverse and fashion-forward community. Rooted in a commitment to sustainable fashion, we offer a curated selection of pre-loved items in a warm and welcoming environment. As a Part-Time Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service, promoting sustainable fashion, and contributing to our online and social media presence. A portion of our sales goes to help subsidize memberships and workshops for underserved entrepreneurs at The Wright Village.
Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
- Provide product knowledge and assistance with styling choices.
- Ensure a positive shopping experience by actively engaging with customers.
2. Sales and Upselling:
- Meet and exceed sales targets through effective product knowledge and upselling techniques.
- Assist customers in finding the perfect items, promoting multiple purchases.
- Utilize knowledge of current fashion trends to drive sales.
3. Online Resale:
- Post unique and curated thrift finds on online resale platforms to expand our digital presence.
- Monitor and respond to customer inquiries on online platforms.
- Ensure accurate and appealing product descriptions and visuals.
4. Visual Merchandising:
- Maintain a visually appealing and organized sales floor.
- Assist in creating eye-catching displays to showcase thrifted and resale merchandise.
- Change window displays to attract and engage customers.
5. Social Media Management:
- Contribute to the development and execution of social media strategies.
- Create and curate engaging conptent for our social media platforms, highlighting the thrill of thrift finds.
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, and build online community engagement.
6. Event Coordination:
- Plan and execute in-store events to celebrate thrift and resale fashion, driving foot traffic and enhancing the customer experience.
- Collaborate with the team to create engaging and memorable store events.
7. Inventory Management:
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and tagging incoming thrift and resale merchandise.
- Monitor and report on stock levels to support inventory management.
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist in maintaining accurate records.
8. Cash Handling:
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payments with precision.
- Maintain a secure and organized cash register area.
Requirements:
- Previous retail or sales experience preferred.
- Passion for thrift and resale fashion and sustainability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
