Takieyah Mathis has been serving the community with advocacy since 2017. She began raising awareness about psoriasis by bringing together those with autoimmune diseases to share testimonies and participate in activities. Takieyah has endured many situations, including domestic violence, and now channels that experience into supporting her community. Mrs. Mathis has also dedicated her heart to individuals in group homes, the homeless, domestic violence survivors, those with mental health conditions, and parents in need of resources. She is an advocate for psoriasis awareness, creating fun and creative fellowship events for those with chronic illnesses like hers.
Takieyah has been selected as an advocate for the National Psoriasis Foundation and has received a community award for humanitarianism. She runs a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide resources through creative charity, economic, and community development projects, including:
Resources to assist those affected by societal disadvantages.
Community clean-up initiatives providing service opportunities.
Awareness resources and activities for autoimmune diseases, mental health conditions, domestic violence, and other issues.
Adopted parks maintained for cleanliness and built-up gardens encouraging creative engagement with nature in the community, providing opportunities for community service hours.
In addition to her advocacy work, Takieyah became a court mediator while pursuing her criminal justice degree and is currently working towards her social work degree at Fayetteville State University. She loves helping others find resources, even while undergoing chemotherapy treatment for her autoimmune disease. Despite facing discouragement in her entertainment career, Takieyah continues to encourage others to pursue their dreams. Mrs. Mathis has been a significant influence in her community and beyond, inspiring individuals in other cities as well.
